Week 41: Colca Valley, Lake Titicaca & Cusco

On the first day of week 41 we started a 2 day bus tour. We had the most excellent tour guide that included the most amazing information. And we also had a great group. Before we did any activities we had to drive for about 3 hours! Then when the driving was done we did a little walk to see cool skulls, and dead bodies! It was awesome. There was also a great view. You could also put a coin inside of one of the skulls heads and make a wish. I wished for a cat🤫. Then we started to head back down to go to the hot springs. They were sooo hot. I was sweating so much I think most of the water was my sweat! In one of the tubs it was 38′! It was crazy. After that we started to go back to our hotel. Then about 40 minutes after, we went to dinner. It wasn’t just a normal dinner, it was dinner with live music! It was soo cool. It definitely screamed Perù. It was very Peruvian because it had the traditional music, dancing, and a great vibe. For dinner we had a plate of pesto pasta each. It was a really fun day.

The next day we went on another bus trip to a walk. The walk was really really hard because we were in high altitude, so it made you dizzy, gave you a headache and you feel a little bit nauseous. Altitude is terrible 👎. Anyway, for doing all of the hard walking we got a great prize of a type of bird called a condor. Condors are these massive birds that can get up the 3.5 metres wide! It’s crazy. While we were walking there was this huge condor that flew nearly 2 metres above our heads! And it was 3.5 metres wide! It was soo cool. There was also this one condor that was charging right at us, but then it just dived in the air! It was an impresionante (awesome) day.

The next day we went on a bus ride to a place called Lake Titicaca. Lake Titicaca has little islands that are floating in the middle of nowhere. It is also the highest lake you can be on a boat in. We went on a boat trip to one of the islands and saw how they lived and how they got food and interacted themselves. It was soo cool. Mum got a beanie and dad took a few of photos. The people and islands were awesome. When we hopped off of the boat onto the island it felt like you were sinking! It was such a weird feeling. It was totally safe, so you could jump on it or anything. At night time we went to a really nice pizza place, that had some of the best pizza. It was crazy delicious. I nearly ate a whole pizza! It was soo yummy. Then after that we went on an overnight bus trip to a place called Cuscow (it is actually called Cusco, but mum always says Cuscow! It is so funny 😂. Dad and I make a joke about it. Anyway, it isn’t actually called that).

The next day we had arrived in Cusco. We arrived there really early, so it felt like such a long day! After having a few naps we went to even more fine dining places! The food was soo yummy I could have had it every day of my life (if we did I think we would be broke). For dinner we had something really weird. We had a burger pizza! That’s 2 of my favourite foods mixed into 1. It was soo yummy. It was a burger patty on a pizza! Eso estuvo DELICIOSO (It was DELICIOUS). Then we happily went to bed because we were so tired after a long day.

The next day we were still in Cuscow😂. What we did was, dad and I went to the Inka museum. If you are wondering what the Inkas are, they are a tribe that is traditional to Perù. They were around 500 years ago! In the museum we learnt all about them. What they eat, where they live, how they live and so much more cool information. Then after that dad and I got an ice-cream each. Then for lunch we went to even more fine dining! We also did fine dining for dinner! It was yummy but also hilarious because we have done it soo many times 😂.

The next day we went on a bus and train ride to a place called Aguas Calientes (Hot Water). It was another 3 hour trip. Then for the afternoon we lined up in a line to get tickets to visit Machu Picchu! After that we got a drink and some nice pizza. The place was soo warming and we also got to sit on these amazing couches. I nearly fell asleep they were so comfortable! The pizza was really good. We got a margarita and a pesto pizza. If you’re wondering what a pesto pizza is, it is a pizza with pesto, cheese, tomato sauce, and tomatoes. I loved the pesto, I kept on picking at it! My favourite was definitely the margarita. Dinner really made a line day a good day.

The next day we went to a place called Machu Picchu. At first I had absolutely no idea what Machu Picchu was. I thought it was Chichén Itza! But when we saw it in real life I was very impressed. It was soo cool. There was old houses and different ways to use a compass, (they had this rock that pointed to all of the right ways! North was right, South was right, West was right and East was right. It was crazy.) lots of amazing views and so much more. There was this massive doorway because the leader of their civilisation wore this huge crown so they had to make the door bigger so then he could fit! It was so funny. I took so many photos, I think my camera may as well explode! On the way back from Machu Picchu we ran all the way down. Then it started to rain and when we arrived at the hotel we were so drenched we had to change our clothes! Then we headed to the train station to go back to Cusco. lt was one amazing day.

The next day we just had a chill day. We did a little walk, I made a fort, and we went out for dinner. Before we had dinner we went to a bar on a balcony. I looked at the food menu and this hamburger sounded absolutely delicious. I asked my parents if I could have it and they said yes! When the burger came out I was very excited because it was as big as my head! It also tasted amazing. Then we headed off to more fine dinning for my parents dinner. I had a bit of gnocchi and calamari. It was amazing.
