Week 5: Cartagena, Isla Grande & San Andrés

This week we… went in a mud bath!🤢 A mud bath is a bath but it’s filled with MUD! When you’re inside you can float without moving anything on your body! When you get out of the mud bath it looks like you are a statue because you look silver! It was probably the most disgusting thing I have ever done in my whole entire life.

After the mud bath we went to a restaurant for sunset called Cafe del Mar and it was a very fun and relaxing place. What I loved most about Cafe del Mar was how I got a lemonade. Yay.

On Tuesday we traveled to Isla Grande. The first day we went to the beach all day. For lunch we went to a restaurant, and wait; was it for lunch?! It took so long for the food to come it felt like dinner time! But to entertain us while waiting for the food we saw a macaw! Then two hours later after we ordered, we ate food! Then we went back to the beach, then we went home. The place we were staying had a very unique type of shower. The type of shower was a bucket filled with freezing water! So thats why I let mum go first then I heard this “OHH MY GOSH THIS IS SO COLD!!!”😂.

The next day in Isla Grande we went snorkelling for half of the day and I saw some really cool fish! Some of my favourite fish were the parrot fish, dory fish, black and blue spotty fish, and the checkered red fish. When we were snorkelling I saw a plane in the water that had sunk from a big crash! Dad nearly touched the plane. After snorkelling we spent the rest of the day at the beach. For lunch we made a risk and we went to the restaurant that took two hours to get food, but this time it was a very big surprise because it only took about ten minutes for food to come!!😂 For the rest of the day we spent it at the beach. Then at night time I DIDN’T GET DINNER!! It was very sad 😢! Mum got me 10 nuts because there was nothing open for dinner 🤷‍♀️.

The next day we went on a boat ride to Cartagena again which was a very bumpy ride (I got very wet). The suburb we stayed in was Getsemani. Some would even say “get some money!!”😂 In the town there was lots of pretty artworks of many different things. Unfortunately we only had one day there ☹️.

The next night we flew to San Andrés, which is an island to enjoy the lovely weather and beaches. When we arrived we went straight to bed and in the morning we went to the beach. Dad went to reception and when he came back he said that we were staying in the wrong hotel!!🤯 we were shocked and then at lunch time we moved to the hotel that we were meant to be in. We had a chilled afternoon.

Then the next day we hired a buggy for the day and explored the island. On the island we found a really cool beach place that had a really big slide that had a massive drop at the bottom. When you drop down it feels like you are flying in the air!! At the place there was also a diving board that was really fun jumping off! But also really creepy! And after that it was the end of week 5😢!!!

Fun facts:

How do you flush a toilet in Isla Grande?

Put a lot of pressure on top of it, like tipping a bucket of water.

Is every piece of sand differently shaped or sized?

Yes every piece of sand is different!

How deep is the mud bath we went in?

2000 meters deep!! That’s almost as high as the highest mountain in Australia!!

  1. Hi again our little darling. 🥰🥰Well what an exciting few weeks you have had. We can’t believe you have been away for 5 weeks already! We absolutely love reading your blogs and your writing skills are getting better and better with every story we read. We are so proud Livvy . The mud bath looked a fun thing to do , but Gram agrees , it would feel very disgusting wouldn’t it especially if it was warm. Bet you had to have a long shower to get all that mud off! Not many people can say they have had a mud bath. I can’t believe the mud baths were so deep . Incredible! I hope mum doesn’t leave it too late to get dinner tonight Livvy. You won’t want to live on peanuts every night. 😂😂
Gram and Pop have been catching up on lots of things around the house, visiting friends and having dinner out and going to some nice jazz concerts this last week. We hope to start planning a nice trip away in our caravan soon.
The snorkelling looked so great and the fish , so very beautiful. All those lovely colours. I loved the underwater photos of you all. Keep having fun our little darling and give mum and dad a kiss from us and lots for you . Love u 😍 😘😍♥️ Gram and Pop xx

Two hours for food! No way 👎👎 you were very patient to last that long! Hope the food was delicious and worth the wait, by the sounds of you guys returning the next day it must have been good. A lot better than the 10 peanuts your mother served you for dinner! I think you better come home to Aunty Halz before you starve over there 😂😂

Hope you have found a place with hot water to shower now also 🚿 I absolutely love reading your blog my little sweetheart and we miss you guys so so much! Keep being awesome 😎 love you xx 🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️

    1. Hey Livvy,
I love hearing about all of your amazing adventures. The boys are very impressed with how brave you were going down the fast slide! We have been taking it easy in our holidays…looking after very busy puppies! The weather looks amazing over there, perfect for all the water activities you are doing…how awesome 👏 I must admit I don’t think I would be brave enough to try the mud bath…that looked gross 🤮
