Week 6: San Andrés

On the first day of week 6 we went to an island called Jonny Cay. To get there we went on a boat ride and when we arrived at the island it looked like we had already been in the water because the boat ride was really rocky, so we got super wet! But the good thing is that it was really sunny, and we were already dry in just one minute! Surprisingly we didn’t get sunburnt one bit! What I liked the most about the island was how there was iguanas on it! And wait for it…there were also so many blue lizards too! But there were also a lot of people and some of them were screaming because of the iguanas 😂! For lunch, if you remember the honey sandwich from week 1, the chips with the meal tasted even worse!!!😂 At least it came with chicken. All we did in the afternoon was do the same thing as the morning which was go in the water, come back out, and exactly when we got out we were dry! Then for dinner we went to a place called “Seaweed”.The food we ordered was a lasagna and a pepperoni pizza. It was one of the best thing I have ever tasted in my whole entire life!! And while we ate we were playing euchre on the table.

The next day we went to Rose Cay. On Rose Cay there were many fish all shapes and sizes. There were big ones and small ones everywhere! The water there was also really clear so it was super easy to see all the fish. The water was also really shallow. The island was really small but so many people could fit on it! What I found really cool was how there was a crossing that you can swim through to a whole different island!! This island was definitely my favourite island so far. But what I was most looking forward to was going back home and having a warm shower 😉😉. Sadly there is no more warm water!!😭😢☹️ It’s so sad!!! I could cry!! At least for dinner we went to Seaweed which calmed me down a lot!

Dad got a new do

On Wednesday we moved to a whole different place called Coral House! And there is some very very exiting news I need to tell you, drum roll please … there is a pool!!!! It’s so exiting I could scream 😱! Because there was a pool we went in it straight away. But we didn’t stay in there for long because there was (drum roll please) a water slide and diving board next door (into the sea)!!!!! So after the pool we went to the sliding and diving place for the rest of the day!!🥳😁😃 then for dinner we had spaghetti (one of my favourite foods)!!

We spent the whole next day at the place that had the slide and diving board! When we got out of the water I learnt how to play solitaire. It is very fun. The sad thing is when we got back I couldn’t sit down because I did too much diving!!!🙁

On Friday we rented a motorbike for the day! On the motorbike we went to a beach, and after that we just drove around the island for a bit then had lunch. For lunch we had a chicken and fish. I only ate the chicken. On the way back from lunch there were so many different beaches that we saw! And for dinner we ate nachos!! Yay!

All we did today was rent the same motor bike for 10-20 mins and then had a chill afternoon( all I did was go on the iPad and my kindle and Nintendo).

The following day we went and saw caimans!! A caiman is like a small crocodile 🐊!! We went so close to them that I could touch it!! Caiman’s can bite so we didn’t touch them.😢 What we also saw was a boa constrictor and it was sleeping in a tree! And when we got home I felt a bit hungry so I went in the kitchen, and at the door there was an iguana there that was about 5 cm away from me!!!! I was terrified! 😱🫣😧 But what I really should be talking about is how the same iguana jumped on my dad’s legs!!!!!! He was really shocked!😮🤯🫢 It was a crazy day!!!

Fun facts:
What is the biggest iguana in the would?

Answer: The Green Iguana, which can grow over 2m long!

What is the highest dive from a diving board in the world?

Answer: 58.8m

Can you swim with caimans?

Answer: YES YOU CAN!!!! Because they can’t bite under water!!! Sounds like a good idea pop maybe I should give it a try?!😂 I’m just kidding!

It must be incredibly hot there to get out of the water and your body dry off immediately, have you been sunburnt at all or is the UV lower over there than here in Australia?

Missing you my little Livy looouuuuu looouuuu! Love you forever xx 😘 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Ps. You know that Aunty Halz would have been screaming and running on that island with any of those animals! My worst fear!
