Week 9: El Rodadero, Panama City & San Blas Islands

On the first days of week 9 we were staying in a place called El Rodadero for 2 nights. We picked a really nice place because of my mum and dadโ€™s anniversary.

This place had the most comfiest couch in the whole world! But sadly I had to leave the couch to do school work ๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ˜ญ.

To get to mum and dadโ€™s anniversary dinner we went on a taxi, but it wasnโ€™t a normal taxi you would think it is. The taxi was actually a type of bike!!! It was a random person who gave us a ride, but he only gave us a ride because he got money and we asked him if we got to have a ride so he had to say yes ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚!!! For dinner we had pizza and spaghetti ๐Ÿ. The pizza was very good but the spaghetti was super salty! It was very funny that there were party buses just passing by while people are cheering and yelling so loud!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸšŒ

After our stay, we left Colombia to go to a new country called Panama.

In Panama, we were also staying at a fancy hotel and dad booked a walking tour for us ๐Ÿ˜€. We learnt lots of cool information about Panama ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฆ. Some of the cool information was: ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฆ

  • There are tunnels from churches that lead to a passage way near the water!
  • You have to be at least 18 to go in a casino! HaHa! The reason I put this fun fact here was because one night we tried to get to a sunset spot with a casino at the bottom and you had to be 18 to enter! So we couldnโ€™t get to the sunset because I was too young!!

After the walking tour we went to the pool for a few hours before dinner. After dinner we went to a rooftop bar. I got a lemonade, dad got a margarita and mum got a glass of red wine. Everyone was happy ๐Ÿ˜€.

The next day we went on a 4 day boat ride! On the way there it was a super rocky ride. Over the next four days, we went to a few different islands each day. On one of the islands there were heaps of shells (I may have snuck a few in). ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

On the first island there was a volleyball net, standup paddle boards and lots of star fish in the water.
First we did standup paddle boarding and when I was paddling I saw lots of massive star fish in the water and I started to freak out. A few hours later after some chill time at the beach, my parents played volleyball with the other people in our group while I watched Simpsons just next to the game. After the volleyball, we went back to our room and I continued watching the Simpsons. After a few minutes, I noticed there were lizards in the bed, so I ran out of the room as quick as I could!! Sadly we had to sleep with them for the whole night!๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

The next day we went on a boat ride to a little village. At the village there was heaps of kids and lots of cool houses. After the little tour around that island, we went to another island with a waterfall. Sadly there was a 40 minute walk to get there. When we arrived at the waterfall, there were two ways to get in the water. We took both ways and they were both really fun. The first way was jumping off a rock that was high above the water, or the other way was to slide down a waterfall. My favourite way was probably the waterfall sliding. At the waterfall, there was an obstacle course that led to a little creek spot. To get there we had to balance on a massive tree a that had fallen down, jump off into the creek with lots of little fish that looked like mini sharks! When we arrived at the end of the obstacle course, there was a swinging root that you could swing off into the water and there were heaps of cool fish you could feed with pipรญ things. I freaked out and chucked the food on the floor by accident! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

After a little while, we started to head back to the boat, or should I say back to where we had to wait 30 minutes in the sun to wait for a boat to come.

The boat took us to the next island where we didnโ€™t do much in the afternoon except chill on the beach. After dinner we watched an ep of the Simpsons and went to bed.

For breakfast the next day, we had stewed sausages with arepas – I used half of my arepas for sausages and the other half to go with syrup! In my opinion, I probably prefer the syrup.

After breakfast, a boat took us to another island which was really really pretty. On the island, while mum and dad were sun baking and while I was waiting for them to come into the water, I was building a sandcastle. Mum came and helped me build a sandcastle. A little girl came up to me and gave me some shells to put on my sandcastle. Mum and dad came in for a swim and then we left the island to a different place called the natural pool. A natural pool is a shallow area of water in the middle of the ocean.

After 25 minutes at the natural pool, we went to the place we were going to stay at for the night. On this island we spent about 5 hours at the beach. Whilst we were at the beach, dad and I went for a kayak over a ship wreck. There was a flag at the front of the boat that had words on it, with my amaze balls eyes, I could see it said โ€œprohibido super hรญbridoโ€. I watched some more Simpsons while mum and dad were on their kindles. Mum gave me some money to buy some sweets for dessert which we ate while we watched even more Simpsons!

Fun facts:

How many islands are there are in the San Blas Islands?

Answer: 365 and 49 are inhabited.

Where is the Panama hat from?

Answer: The Panama hat isnโ€™t actually from Panama! It is from Ecuador ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡จ.

  1. Hi little sweetheart,
Wow Livy what a lovely few days you have had exploring the beautiful San Blas Islands. The photos are so stunning.
Panama City looks so wonderful as well . The walking tour sounded very interesting . Gram and Pop have always wanted to visit the Panama Canal and experience travelling through it on a cruise ship. You will have to let us know how wonderful it is. Hope you meet lots of new friends in kids club. It will be nice having some young friends to mix with and hopefully they can speak English as well .
Enjoy all the beautiful food choices on the ship. We are really looking forward to sharing all the fun times with you on our Caribbean cruise together soon.
Enjoy your time at sea visiting more beautiful places.
Love you so much little darling
