Week 12: Nashville, Asheville & Charleston

On Monday we had left New York. It is so sad 😭! So after New York we went to the airport and at the airport dad lost his bag!! Which was very annoying because we had to wait for the bag to come which took foreverrrrrrrrrrrr! So we waited and waited and waited for it to come and it never came!

We went to the place we were staying in and it was beautiful. I nearly wanted to live there! I went to bed and I woke up one hour later but I woke up because we were going to pick up my grandparents from the airport!!! I was so exited I could scream 😱! So I did.😂😂 Then we went back to the house and properly went to bed.

On Tuesday we went to the Parthenon art museum. It is a copy of the on in Greece. The Parthenon is were we had had lunch (saltines). Saltines are a type of cracker that has salt on crackers. After lunch we went to an American pub.

Get ready for something really exiting…we went to the Grand Ole Opry. The Grand Ole Opry is a country music show that they do twice a week. Because we were in a country type of place we had to get all dressed up in country clothes, so we bought cowgirl boots, some cowgirl hats and that sort of stuff. It looked like I had lived there. Here is a photo.

On Wednesday morning I did some school and went to the Country Music Hall of Fame which had some really cool art art and for lunch we had ribs and burgers.

On Thursday it was my grandma’s BIRTHDAY!!! On her birthday we had her favourite breakfast which is smoked salmon on a bagel. It was a driving day so we had to try to make it a fun day. Hmmm, I wonder what I should do. Who are you looking at?! All I’m doing is thinking. GOSH! Ooo got it ok we are going to stop on the drive at afternoon tea and have a cake. Ok now all I have to do is tell mum and dad and pop (my grandfather). So I did and we actually did it!

Then after we had arrived at our destination we started to head back to the place we were staying at. Then we went to dinner. We were having dinner at a place called Jack Of The Woods.

On Friday we had another driving day but we were pretending it was still my grandma’s birthday. Because at dinner I asked the band if they could call my grandma’s name out and sing a song and guess what they did! Something else that was also really exiting was how I got asked to come up stage and sing a song! It was really embarrassing. And that is how my day had ended.

On Saturday we had a driving day and because it was a driving day and we were back in the US so we had to go to a diner. So we did and it was delicious. It was probably the best burger I had ever had! But sadly we had to go. So then we were back on the road heading to a place called Charleston. On the way we stpoped at a place called the Angels Tree. Then we had arrived in Charleston.

In Charleston we did a walking tour for 2 hours. And then we started to head off to Georgia. So we were back on the road looking forward to a new week in a new state.

Is the food really big and sugary over there? Someone told me that everything tastes like sugar! Is the food different to what you would normally eat back in Australia? I would love to challenge you to eating a whole burger in 2 minutes….just joking! That is crazy!

The next challenge is one for you and grammy after i saw your funny video with the shaky dude hahaha you both have to do a funny dance and have mum and dad video it in every town you visit and post it!

    Get dancing!
