Week 16: New Orleans, Bandera, Austin & Dallas

On Monday we drove to New Orleans where we went into our house that we were staying at for the next few nights. In the house we all went “wow” as we saw 4 beds… But then we walked further through the house and saw 2 more beds! Don’t worry there is absolutly no more beds. End. Of. Story. We then had to choose which bed we were going to sleep in. I chose the 4th from the front, my mum and dad chose 3rd from the front, and my grandparent’s slept in the 2nd from the back. Wow, that’s a lot of beds. Then we finaly got to sleep in them, and they were really comfortable.

On Tuesday we did a New Orleans walking tour. On the walking tour I learnt some fun facts. Some of the fun facts are:

  • Once New Orleans had a war with the French
  • New Orleans is built on mud becuase it is on or below sea level

Anyway, after the tour we went to a really nice jazz cafe that had yummy food called “beignets”. Beignets are these type of donut that is really doghy and has soooooo much icing sugar! They are probably one of the best donuts I had ever had, and I’ve had lots of good donuts. Then we went to sleep.

The next day we went on a plantation tour where there was a massive mansion and they used to own slaves. It was a very cruel place and luckily slavery like this doesn’t exist anymore. Out the front of the house there were several oak trees. It was really pretty. Then after the plantation tour we drove to Texas!

Texas is definataly a place on my bucket list. And it just keeps getting better, I went to bingo with my mum and Gram! The prizes for bingo were $200, and $750! The game was not like normal bingo because in this bingo you had to get a double bingo to win $200 and you had to get a black-out to win $750. Sadly we didn’t get anything – but we did get so close to geting a black-out, having only 2 numbers left! It was a super fun night.

The next day we drove to Bandera where we were staying in the coolest place ever! We were staying in a place with a fusball table, a moose head sticking out at the front of the barbeque, and a swing in the backyard!!!!! Wow. That’s alot of stuff. Anyway, what was also really cool was how we were now in the cowboy capital of the whole world! What a place. Oh and it just keeps coming because I also got to dance with a cowboy from the cowboy capital of the world! That night we went to a cook-up were there is a big barbeque and lots of people come to roast their dinner. At the pub there is also live music and this is where a cowboy came up and asked me to dance with him, so I had to say yes. The band also sang me happy birthday (we were celebrating early before Gram and Pop went home) and asked me to take around their tip jar. I got them so much money and the band gave me $10! What a day – the absolute bestest place ever.

YYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY ONE WEEK TILL MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! I loooovvvvveeeeeee birthdays – especially when it’s my one!! As I mentioned above, we were celebrating my birthday early with my Gram and Pop because they were leaving in 3 days to go back to Australia. Sad 😒😒😒. So that’s why were going to celebrate my birthday early with my grandparents. To make it more exciting, I was blind folded while driving to my birthday present! THE PRESSURE!!!! Finaly we made it. Man that was hard. Then I saw a sign that said “horse riding”! Yay, we are going horse riding for the day and I was given a very cute horse.

AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Watch out it’s a killer!!!!! Ok, I think he’s gone. Phew. That was close. I sure am glad that I’m not riding that horse. And then a guy came up to me and said that I was riding the horse called Killer. Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooo!!!!! He turned out to be a great horse.πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽβ˜ οΈπŸ˜ˆ Anyway, I also got another present (long horn cow stuffed toy) and I named it Killer too. Yay! Done, done, doooonnnnneeee!! So after, we continued my birthday. And it was a very fun day. Then we ended the day with some Texan ribs. YYYYYUUUUUUMMMMMM!!!!!!

On Friday we went to a car racing show!! At the car racing place we first took a lot of photos, then tried to find the place we were going to sit at. we also noticed how quiet it was, and then we found the place we were going to sit at and sat there. Then the exitment had started. It was so loud that I could scream and no one would hear me. ! BBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! The engines had started. We all chose who we were going for. I picked a cool blue one, mum had chosen a purple one, dad had chosen a black and blue one, gram had chosen a bright yellow one, and pop had chosen one that wasn’t racing (by accident)!! That is one lot of cars. By far my one was definately the best one. And guess what? My car won! Yyyyyaaaaayyyyyy! Then sadly it came to the end of the day. Sad. So I guess we had to go to bed.

On Saturday we did something really cool. That cool thing is we went to a………………………………….. man I have got to work on those dots, anyway, we went to the….. rodeo!!!!! If you don’t know what a rodeo is, it is a place were people ride bulls and horses. But what the bulls and horses did was buck and this makes it way more difficult. The other activities they did was barrell racing, horse racing and of corse bucking. On the way back we picked up a cowbell (I rang it the whole way home!).

On the last day of this blog my grandparents sadly had left. WWWWWAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s so sad!! But the good thing was that we still had about one more hour with them and during this time we visited my grandma’s friends place which was fun.

Saying goodbye was sad. So so sad. So after a sad goodbye we went to chillis for the last moments in the US (well at least for now). After chillis went to a electric bucking bull, and I went on it. It was probably one of the most scariest and funest thing ever. Then sadly it was time to leave the US, as we were heading to Mexico City. I was looking foward to going to Mexico because I am going to have my birthday there and my birthday is only in 4 days! Anyway, we were on the way to Mexico City. It was a whole 5 hours till we had arrived in this most cutest hotel ever! It had cute birds, flowers everywhere, and the rooms were cool too.
