On the first day of week 23 we had a travel day. But in the afternoon, after we had arrived in San Ignacio, we went to a creek that had a waterfall at the back of the creek. The waterfall was absolutely beautiful, and super refreshing. Especially when we were as hot as burnt bread from a toaster. And it was the best way to cool off.

On Tuesday we did something really cool. We went…. To the ATM Caves! If you don’t know what the ATM Caves are, they are these caves, and the “ATM” stands for…. (I don’t know). Anyway, the ATM Cave had the coolest things ever! It had crystals, it was so dark you had to have a light on, they used to be used by the Mayans, and my favourite thing was how there were SKULLS☠️!!! Only read this next paragraph if you want to know how they were killed👌👍. Ok. Lets go! 🫡 WARNING WARNING!!!
So, they were killed by getting whacked and hit and be harmed by the other Mayans! Which meant, when they got hit it left a mark on their skull. It was so creepy and harsh back then 👎🏻.
If you read that paragraph I wasn’t kiddin’ when I said WARNING WARNING! ⚠️.

And if you found that photo creepy, imagine seeing it in real life! It was so so creepy😬😱. There wasn’t just skulls and crystals, there was also pottery. The pottery was really cool because they had all of these patterns and on one of them we found a weird little sort of logo on it. It was super weird to think that over 1,200 years ago they had a logo like Nike or Tommy Hillfiger or something like that! It was crazy.

The next day we did something very similar, but not that similar. We went…. Cave tubing! If you don’t know what cave tubing is, it is were you sit in a tube and a current would take you all the way around the cave that we were tubing in. It was so fun! In the cave it had the most coolest crystals ever💎! Our tour guide said that there was skulls behind some of the walls in the cave. We didn’t get to see them, but it was still cool to know that they were there. Then we had arrived at the end of the cave and it was time to go back home.

The next day we had a chill travel day. Which meant the whole time I just looked out the window and was only allowed to watch two episodes of The Simpsons. So it wasn’t the best start of the day, but in the evening we went to a bar to celebrate my dad’s success on starting his OWN BUSINESS! I got a Sprite, mum got a beer, and dad got a piña colada. It was the best way to end the day with drinking our favourite drinks in front of a beach (with sargassum).

On Saturday it was Mothers Day EVE! It’s Mothers Day in Australia, but it’s Mothers Day EVE in Belize. Got that? Good. For mum I got her a day spa that goes for 90 mins, I made her a picture that I drew of a rose, and then you could open it up and it would have lots of roses after I also got her a piece of string connected to a toilet paper roll and every 5-10 mins I would put a little present in it, and whenever she wanted the present she could pull the string and the prize would come to her! It was a lot of presents just for Mothers Day EVE. Then for dinner we had her favourite cuisine, Italian.
The next day was Mother’s Day in Belize, but the day after Mother’s Day in Australia. Anyway, yesterdays Mother’s Day was a bit better than today’s Mother’s Day, but it was still a nice day. In the morning we went to a nice cafè, and then after it started to rain, which was a bit annoying so we had a chill afternoon. It wasn’t a very exiting day, but it was still fun.
Fun facts:
What is the longest cave that ever existed?
Answer: Mammoth Cave National Park preserves the world’s longest known cave system. Mammoth Cave is a limestone labyrinth with more than 400 miles of it explored, and the park estimates a potential for another 600 miles in its system.
How many places in the world are you allowed to go cave tubing?
Answer: There are only 2 places in the world that you can cave tube in, and those 2 places are Belize and New Zealand!
Why did the Mayans kill people in the ATM Cave?
Answer: The Mayans made human sacrifices to the Rain God, having hope on getting rain in exchange (Don,t try this at home, because it doesn,t work, and also because you probably don,t want to KILL someone!).

Hello my beautiful girl, that was a fun filled week for you! I think you need to ask mum whether the ATM Caves stands for Automatic Teller Machine (bank language) hahahaha that would be fun if the caves gave out money! Instead of scary skulls………….OMG! I wouldn’t have liked to live back then, how dangerous.
Cave tubing would have been absolutely incredible, floating into the caves and seeing all the ancient artefacts. So cool.
I am positive that Mum had the most amazing Mother’s Day Liv because of how much you spoilt her with your special homemade gifts, that was so kind of you.
Congratulations to Davo! Wow, your dad is one awesome guy! We are all so very proud of him back home here.
Love you so much my gorgeous girl.
