Week 32: Drake Bay, La Fortuna, Tamarindo & San José

On the first day of week 32 we woke up reallyyy early to go on a tour with lots of animals. We had then arrived in animal city. It had animals nearly everywhere you look! It was crazy. The most popular animal was a coatimundi. Coatimundis are like an ant eater and a racoon mixed together. I got this close to one of the coatimundis 👉 👈! It was really cool to go so close to a WILD animal. The other animals that we saw were 3 tapirs, a few spider monkeys, a boa constrictor, and a few lizards and crabs! It was soo cool. And then we were on our way back home, soo dirty, that if we laid in the dirt no one would know we were there. So we all had a shower and chilled in the afternoon.

On Tuesday it was just a travel day. We went on a boat ride, and then went on a reallyyyy big drive (it was 8 hours!). It wasn’t that exciting. BUT we were staying in a really nice apartment. It was beautiful. So the beautiful apartment made up for the big travel day. I slept with literally 3 pillows! There was also hot water! And you weren’t that cold at night, there was air-conditioning. It was so luxurious. We decided to stay for 2 more nights it was so nice! But I thought we would end up staying for a month, like in San Marcos! And then it was already dinner time. It felt weird because when I travel I am never hungry! Then it was time to go to bed.

This wednsday was a very exciting day. We were going white water rafting! Tick one thing off my bucket list. At first I was VERY nervous, but when we took off, I had the time of my life. It was sooo much fun I could scream, oh wait I did! White water rafting is so much fun. When there is rapids it’s like you’re flying in the sky.

It’s AWESOME.

But sadly there is always an end to a river. And that start, turned into a stop. But the fun was not over yet, at lunch we got to eat delicious food while looking at our funny screaming and smiling faces on photos, at the same time. And man, they were hilarious! One face looked like this…. 🤪. It was so funny! But then there was an end. We had arrived at our house, and had the most delicious spaghetti bolognaise EVER. Then we went to bed.

The next day we went to the Hot Springs. I was freezing, until we went in the water. It was sooo warm, there was steam above the water! It was really nice. But sadly, some people in high school came and intruded in the pool! It was so rude. But it was still really fun.

After the Hot Springs we went to a place with a waterfall and a rope swing. Mum, dad, and I went on the rope swing. It was quite a nice waterfall too. The rope swing was super duper fun! You started on the dirt, and then you would put your feet up, and then you would be flying in the sky. And you let go, and SPLASH! It was a really fun day.

The next day was a very exciting day. We were going to go…. Abseiling!!! And it was sooo much fun. And it wasn’t only abseiling, we also went…. Zip-lining!!! And that was also sooo much fun. I wish we could do it on and on and on and on, again and again it was so much fun! Abseiling is when you get all strapped up and then you lean backwards, then you start jumping off the wall and into the air. One of the courses went down a 60 metre waterfall! And on one of the zip-lines I went upside down! It was so cool, to abseil down a waterfall, zip-line upside down, and do a bit of hiking. It was an awesome day.

On Saturday we went on another big car drive that went for about 5 hours. But on the way we stopped at a few places, to do a few things. Our first stop was at a really nice bakery. We got a bit of ice-cream with a pastry, we also got a cinnamon bun, and a coconut bun, and a pretzel, and, oh wait, there was nothing else we ordered! It was sooo delicious, I could explode (I nearly did, because I ate waayyy too much!)!

The second activity was going to a beach, but WAIT! It wasn’t just a normal beach that we swam at and all of that stuff. But it was a normal beach, WITH a ride on a banana boat! It was soo much fun I could scream! Oh wait, I did! On the banana boat we went super duper fast, and then the driver would do a sharp turn, and even if you tried, you would fall! It was crazy! When we weren’t falling off the boat, it was a very nice view of the beach, and the mountains. It was beautiful. But then it came to an end, and then we found ourselves walking back to the car.

The car trip had come to an end. We were not sad, because the place we had arrived at had a pool, nice rooms, and a kitchen! We were in heaven. I have no idea how many times I went in the pool, because I went in all the time. It was so cool.

The next day we went to a nice beach. At the beach we went surfing. It was so much fun! I was quite good. But I fell off like 10 times! The waves were really big. Dad and mum and I, all went surfing. I was probably the best (don’t tell my parents!).

Re-doing Hawaii

Then the next day we drove to San José. And in San José my parents surprised me with a fancy hotel! It was awesome! It had a bath, marble walls, and so much more. It had the most coolest things. It also had a breakfast buffet! I adored it! I wish we could stay there forever.
